Stimulating realization of Housing Cooperatives

To stimulate the emergence and realization of housing cooperatives in Haarlem, Ravenkop developed a framework for the municipality that clarifies how local government can support and facilitate such initiatives. Combining theory and practical examples, the framework explores how housing cooperatives can contribute to affordable housing as well as to broader societal goals, such as strengthening citizen involvement in shaping the living environment. The framework was applied to the development of Zwemmerslaan, resulting in concrete recommendations to enable a housing cooperative at this location.
